Auxiliary Day Camp Counsellor

Under the supervision of others, an Auxiliary Counsellor is in charge of the daily care and supervision of as many as 12 campers as they participate in the camp program. An Auxiliary Counsellor performs duties such as conducting frequent head counts, managing behaviour within their camper group, assisting with programming at activities and making meaningful connections with campers. It is also expected that Auxiliary Counsellors act as a positive role model while working at camp. Our Auxiliary Counsellors are 16 by December 31, 2020 (born in 2004). If you are younger or older than 16 as of December 31, 2020, you are ineligible for this position. Older candidates should apply as counsellors, lead counsellors or activity instructors.

Day Camp Counsellor

With the support of others, a Counsellor is in charge of the daily care and supervision of as many as 12 campers as they participate in the camp program. A Counsellor performs duties such as conducting frequent head counts, managing behaviour within their camper group, assisting with programming at activities and making meaningful connections with campers. Counsellors work under the direct supervision of a Lead Counsellor. They are expected to work independently with their group of campers, however they may be paired with other Counsellors or Auxiliary Counsellors. It is also expected that Counsellors act as a positive role model while working at camp. Our Counsellors are a minimum age of 17 by December 31, 2020.

Lead Counsellor Day Camp

A Lead Counsellor oversees multiple groups of day campers. They ensure that each camper is receiving adequate supervision and care. A Lead Counsellor provides supervision to Auxiliary Counsellors and Counsellors that are assigned to their groups, and ensures that they are completing their duties exceptionally. They will provide guidance and support when required, and assists in evaluating their performance. A Lead Counsellor is also responsible for delivering programming at activities such as Archery, Field Games and Low Ropes. In addition to Staff Training, Lead Counsellors must be prepared to attend additional training in June. Past counselling experience is a requirement to anyone who applies for this position.

Cabin Counsellor (Overnight)

A Cabin Counsellor is in charge of the care and supervision of as many as 8 campers throughout their stay at camp. They ensure that campers are eating at meals, looking after personal hygiene and getting along with others in their cabin. A Cabin Counsellor manages behaviour within their cabin group and makes meaningful connections with their campers. They are paired with other Counsellors or Auxiliary Counsellors and are expected to work cooperatively with others. It is also expected that Counsellors act as a positive role model while working at camp. During the day, a Cabin Counsellor will assist in delivering programming at camp activities or assist with our Day Camp Program. Our Counsellors are a minimum age of 17 by December 31, 2020.

Auxiliary Cabin Counsellor (Overnight Camp)
